If you were hired to perform a job and make sure it was done on time, my guess is that you would fulfill your responsibilities. Why should we accept less from our elected state legislators? This is why at the Annual Membership Meeting in October our delegates voted to begin the process of putting a NoBudget-NoPay initiative before the voters. We have been working diligently assembling a prospective team of individuals made up of a public relations company, a legal firm, legislative advisors and signature gathering professionals who are experienced in the process and requirements of the Fair Political Practices Commission necessary to achieve our goals.
We developed this website where the full text of the proposed initiative can be read. We will continue to develop the website as we continue working to accomplish our goals. Now we need to send this language to a Constitutional Attorney who will make sure it is legal and will not be overturned once passed by the electorate. After the legal review we will submit the initiative to the Attorney General who will certify it for signature gathering and provide a written overview.
We are currently asking for donations to provide the required financing to move forward and now need to have your monetary support ASAP. If we can get the required grass roots and public support our goals are easily achievable. A recent Public Opinion survey was conducted by SurveyUSA which showed approximately 70% of the voters supported the Legislators and Governor forfeiting their pay if no budget was passed on time.
If you could donate at least $10.00 or more, which you can do by clicking on the 'Donate' tab and fill out the required information. You may use your American Express, Master Card, Visa or Discover credit card. Or if you would prefer you may mail a check to the California State Grange office at: 3830 U Street, Sacramento, CA 95817. Please write 'NBNP Initiative' in the memo field on your check.
